This Blog

Oh this blog!  I read blogs almost every day.  Why can't I post on my own?  I start posts all the time.  I probably have 20 in my draft folder that I just never got the drive to finish.  Then my Dad calls and says, "oh I was just reading your blog and you haven't updated in a while..." and then my "real life" friends start blogging and it gives me the itch.

I want to remember these things and I'm not scrapbooking or anything so if I don't put them down I'll forget! Why that doesn't motivate me to blog all the time I do not know.  But I have the urge tonight so here goes nothing!

Papa came to visit last week.  We literally count the days from one person's visit to the next.  The pictures tell exactly what we did while Papa was here :)

Buddy's birthday, Halloween, family visiting at Thanksgiving and Christmas, New Years and new baby :)
We have a lot coming up and A LOT to thank God for!

Preschool or Pre-school?

Our first baby went off to school today!
He's been asking about this day for months and he was ecstatic when he woke up this morning.

With all of this growing up happening around here (first sports, Landon's b-day, school) I thought my momma-heart would be sad.
It's the opposite!
I am so excited that my little guy is to this point!

Chance and I are so blessed that God chose us to raise these sweet boys.

We can't wait to see the little men He has them grow up to be!

He loves pictures can't you tell ;)

Can we go now Mom?

:)

On another note:
is it preschool or pre-school?
Doesn't matter now since the photos have been taken and Landon is currently coloring all over my creation, but looking at it now I'm thinking it's preschool.
Oh well!

2 Years

I distinctly remember that it was YESTERDAY that they handed this sweet bundle to me.
At least it feels like yesterday...

What he did when we said present time

More excited about the Mickey plane from the cake than the big toy under that wrapping paper :)
such a little boy

It's your second birthday my sweet baby Landon.  You get sweeter everyday!  If you could snuggle all day next to me you would be satisfied.  You still lay your head on my shoulder when I pick you up.  Words are flowing from your mouth!  They never stop, just like your brother :)  Our lives are brighter and sweeter because we get to have you as our baby.  I love that you are growing up, but it does make my heart stop a little to think of how fast the time with you is flying.  We all love you so much sweet boy.  Here's to another great year with you Landon!

Soccer

When they say time flies, they weren't lying.
4 years ago when Buddy was born I remember talking to Chance about how fun it was going to be watching him play sports someday.

Today was such a day.
Kind of...

After getting there, we were informed there was no coach.
I gladly accepted the position!
I wish I'd had time to prepare but there is always next week.

And so the season of 3-4 year old soccer begins!

Before we left the house.  He is so grown up!

Using his skills :)

Here I am explaining that we have to share the ball.  He  is used to having his ball to himself at home so it will be an adjustment, but I thought the picture was funny.

It looks like there is just chaos.  It was kind of like that.  We shared the field with another team and parents were everywhere.  It will definitely be more organized next week :)

More skills :)
Oh he melts my heart.  He was waiting his turn to dribble and shoot.  My little soccer player.
Auntie Em would be proud!

And just so you know he's still here!  He and dad played and took all the pictures today.  I think Landon loves the alone time with Daddy :)

When I'm with You

I have babies on the brain obviously.
But this song makes me think of all of my babies :)

Crafty

I've always loved crafts.
Scrapbooking, knitting, crocheting, sewing.
I've tried just about everything.

And thanks to Pinterest I can feel crafty everyday!
But since having babies, I rarely am crafty.

Until this weekend!
I worked up the nerve last week to finish the quilt top for a quilt I started in November 2009 for my mother.
It's my first one and I have to say I can't wait to start another.

And yesterday I started two projects I saw on Pinterest and finished one!
It's exciting for me to be able to start and finish something with two little boys as my helpers.

This was probably the easiest thing I've ever done.  Here is a link to the tutorial.  It cost me all of $11.

The finished quilt top.  Now it just needs to be quilted which I cannot do with my skill level or tiny machine :)

This $3 beauty will be a chalkboard to hang in the kitchen in a few days.

Sharing

About two weeks ago (I think) I got the crazy idea one morning that the boys should start sharing a room that day!

We didn't have to move them in together right now.  They did amazing in their own rooms, but we knew eventually we'd want them to share for the bonding and the extra space. :)

So I took the crib apart, moved it into Isaac's room, and put it together again.  Nap time was an hour away by that point in the day.

After laying them down together I quickly realized they were NOT going to get their usual 3 hour nap in giggling and screaming in delight together.  So I tried laying with them for a minute.  Nope.  Didn't work either.  Eventually my 1st trimester exhaustion (my excuse) kicked in and cranky mom came out and made Buddy nap in the guest room so we could all get some rest.

That night we tried them going to sleep at the same time.  Disaster.  Landon was not liking his new arrangement so he was screaming.  Isaac spent the night in the guest room again :(

Then after some prayer from Mom and myself, and a tip from my sister who has boys the same ages as mine who share, I tried putting them down separately.  Hallelujah!!!  Worked like a charm.  They napped and slept at night like this for a few days perfectly.  Then we decided to get crazy a few nights ago and try them going at the same time.

They love it.  They feel safe together.  After a few minutes of talking to each other they are out!
Now Chance and I are going to enjoy our last few months of sleep before sweet baby 3 comes.

Their beds were bought at different garage sales, in different states, 3 years apart.  But they match.   AWESOME!

My favorite part of their room is their matching names.  Chance's Mom ordered these for us from his sweet cousin Krissy.

It's full of tons of cute home goods that you can personalize to your liking!
