Soccer

When they say time flies, they weren't lying.
4 years ago when Buddy was born I remember talking to Chance about how fun it was going to be watching him play sports someday.

Today was such a day.
Kind of...

After getting there, we were informed there was no coach.
I gladly accepted the position!
I wish I'd had time to prepare but there is always next week.

And so the season of 3-4 year old soccer begins!

Before we left the house.  He is so grown up!

Using his skills :)

Here I am explaining that we have to share the ball.  He  is used to having his ball to himself at home so it will be an adjustment, but I thought the picture was funny.

It looks like there is just chaos.  It was kind of like that.  We shared the field with another team and parents were everywhere.  It will definitely be more organized next week :)

More skills :)
Oh he melts my heart.  He was waiting his turn to dribble and shoot.  My little soccer player.
Auntie Em would be proud!

And just so you know he's still here!  He and dad played and took all the pictures today.  I think Landon loves the alone time with Daddy :)

When I'm with You

I have babies on the brain obviously.
But this song makes me think of all of my babies :)

Crafty

I've always loved crafts.
Scrapbooking, knitting, crocheting, sewing.
I've tried just about everything.

And thanks to Pinterest I can feel crafty everyday!
But since having babies, I rarely am crafty.

Until this weekend!
I worked up the nerve last week to finish the quilt top for a quilt I started in November 2009 for my mother.
It's my first one and I have to say I can't wait to start another.

And yesterday I started two projects I saw on Pinterest and finished one!
It's exciting for me to be able to start and finish something with two little boys as my helpers.

This was probably the easiest thing I've ever done.  Here is a link to the tutorial.  It cost me all of $11.

The finished quilt top.  Now it just needs to be quilted which I cannot do with my skill level or tiny machine :)

This $3 beauty will be a chalkboard to hang in the kitchen in a few days.

Sharing

About two weeks ago (I think) I got the crazy idea one morning that the boys should start sharing a room that day!

We didn't have to move them in together right now.  They did amazing in their own rooms, but we knew eventually we'd want them to share for the bonding and the extra space. :)

So I took the crib apart, moved it into Isaac's room, and put it together again.  Nap time was an hour away by that point in the day.

After laying them down together I quickly realized they were NOT going to get their usual 3 hour nap in giggling and screaming in delight together.  So I tried laying with them for a minute.  Nope.  Didn't work either.  Eventually my 1st trimester exhaustion (my excuse) kicked in and cranky mom came out and made Buddy nap in the guest room so we could all get some rest.

That night we tried them going to sleep at the same time.  Disaster.  Landon was not liking his new arrangement so he was screaming.  Isaac spent the night in the guest room again :(

Then after some prayer from Mom and myself, and a tip from my sister who has boys the same ages as mine who share, I tried putting them down separately.  Hallelujah!!!  Worked like a charm.  They napped and slept at night like this for a few days perfectly.  Then we decided to get crazy a few nights ago and try them going at the same time.

They love it.  They feel safe together.  After a few minutes of talking to each other they are out!
Now Chance and I are going to enjoy our last few months of sleep before sweet baby 3 comes.

Their beds were bought at different garage sales, in different states, 3 years apart.  But they match.   AWESOME!

My favorite part of their room is their matching names.  Chance's Mom ordered these for us from his sweet cousin Krissy.

Family Day

Last Saturday we decided to have a family day where we did more than sit around the house :)

We did start off with a little lounging :)  But then we were off to Krispy Kreme's to eat and see how they make those delicious treats.  I forgot to get a picture there.

Golfing was next.  Daddy gave lessons on every hole.  Such a guy!

Action shot!

Landon would have stood by the huge giraffe all day but we made him walk with us :)

Even the little guy got a lesson or two

Focus!

After golfing we headed out to the backyard to do a little splashing in the baby pool.
Then nap time :)

After nap time we went into town for some frozen yogurt.
I love it but Chance says it's just glorified low fat ice cream...

Share please!!

It was a fun Saturday.
On another note, the boys have been napping and sleeping each night in their room together wonderfully!
They chat a little when the first lay down, but it's cute!

And now that Landon's old room is now the guest room again, I added my sewing table and machine so I could work on this again.....

Mom's quilt that has been in the making since.....Nov. 2009?  Yikes!
I don't know everything I need to about quilting and I've taken many breaks due to my fear of screwing it up.
I'm adding borders today.  Wish me luck!
